The video chat service Bing video has started asking users for permission to contact them, which some may find to be intrusive and offensive.
The company announced on Thursday that it will start using this process for users who contact their provider to talk to them about video chat.
Users will also have the option of turning off the feature in their settings.
The change will allow Bing to better track down the accounts that are not in the service’s systems, which has been an issue for a long time.
The app has also been criticized for being too slow for some users, especially those who do not have access to a VPN service.
Bing has already been under fire for a slow rollout of the feature, which caused many people to log into the app at the same time as others.
The issue came to a head on February 6 when an Uber driver in New York City reported being blocked from using the service due to the block.
The Uber driver, who asked that his name not be used, has since launched a crowdfunding campaign to help raise money to make his account back.
He says that he has received multiple phone calls from users who are upset over the process.
“They want to be able to get in touch with their provider and they don’t have a lot of control over the way that they are being treated,” the driver said in a statement.
B, another app that has had some controversial issues, also has been forced to ask users for permissions.
In May, the band member told Billboard that he had to ask his provider for permission before he could ask for the ability to request video chat to be enabled in his app.
BOOB said that it did not use any special technology to create the request, but that the app has asked for permission for the option in its settings.
“This is the first time we have had to make this request to the provider,” BOOBs CEO Kim Koolhaas told Billboard.
“We asked for the permission to enable this feature and they granted it.”
B’s CEO told Billboard in June that the band will continue to ask for permission from its users and has started working on ways to better protect users.
BING says that it’s now working with B.ooB to create a new video chat option in the app that will allow users to send videos and photos, but the band’s CEO says that the move is not enough.
“The problem is that this isn’t a new issue,” Koolhas said in June.
“B.oB has been trying to address this issue for years and they’ve been told to stop by their customers.”
“We’re working on a solution,” he added.
